Happiness is when you realize that you can do what you were born for. While others only dream about it, I was allowed to realize it. The only direction was to live music and not just play songs. So, the credo is clearly the way and not the goal.
I was on a concert tour through Spain. The inner fire was unfortunately only a light flame at that time. The inevitable question, why am I still doing this, came up in me. The answer was clear: I'm just counting miles.
I sat in the passenger seat of the tour bus, looking at the road ahead, and started writing this song.
lyrics
Counting Miles
Always leaving home ‘cause the road has many charms
It welcomes me right back with open arms
Jack and Coke for breakfast on a cheap flight to Berlin
For old times’ sake, whatever, count me in
It may sound bad, but I’m just drawn to sin
Well it seems I’m the chosen one who’s living all your dreams
Flying high beyond your sky and breaking free
We don’t have to be that different
But for me, I’m just counting miles
Rock 'n' Roll ain’t dead but it got old and gray and done
Don’t give a shit, it keeps me on the run
Shooting songs with a six-string as my gun
Well it seems I’m the chosen one who’s living all your dreams
Flying high beyond your sky and breaking free
We don’t have to be that different
But for me, I’m just counting miles
Well it seems I’m the chosen one who’s living all your dreams
Flying high beyond your sky and breaking free
We don’t have to be that different
But for me, I’m just counting miles
Yeah me, I’m just counting miles
Me, I’m just counting miles
