There seems to be a support group for everything these days, except for people who have had their hearts broken. There are lonely hearts support groups, but no broken hearts support groups.
Being able to share their feelings with other people in the same situation would really help many and heal the wounds caused by break-ups.
So, the guy in this song imagines that he could join a Club of the Broken Hearted. Is he using it as a metaphor? Is it just a wish? Is it something that he really believes exists - at least inside his head? We'll leave you to figure that one out.
lyrics
Club Of The Broken Hearted
You walked away without any warnings
Coldly told me we were through
Wish I could fall in love with these empty mornings
Maybe they would leave me too, like you
And I know I should have been much smarter
Love grows old and you are young
Were you looking for happy ever after
Or just using me for fun?
I should have known that your love would have missed its target
So I guess I've joined the Club of the Broken-Hearted
Well I'm not the first to live with a cheat
And I sure won't be the last
I wish everyone who's been hurt could meet
And give the finger to their past
I should have known that your love would have missed its target
So I guess I've joined the Club of the Broken-Hearted
Club of the Broken-Hearted
Club of the Broken-Hearted
So I hope that you're all happy now
Raise your thumbs and watch me falling down
Even though my life was tough, long before we started
Never thought I'd join the Club of the Broken-Hearted
Club of the Broken-Hearted
Club of the Broken-Hearted
